A DICE GAME OF Asian origin, Sic Bo is a very simple table game
with no limit as to the number of Players. It is played with three
dice that determines the outcome of the game. The goal is to select
the individual numbers, or combinations of numbers, that will
appear on the table. All maximum and minimum bets are posted at
each Sic Bo table.
The game begins as Players lay their bets directly on the betting
squares on the table. Sic Bo Players bet against the House, not
against each other and anticipate what they think will turn up
on the dice. Once the bets are placed (multiple bets can be played),
the Dealer shakes a special container holding the dice three times.
The Dealer then enters the numbers on the dice into an electronic
keypad that lights up the winning numbers on the table. The Player
whose bet is on the illuminated square wins. Bets pay off according
to the odds indicated on the table’s easy-to-read layout.
Types of Bets in Sic
Bo
A – Single Number Bet:
The Player bets on a single number (1 to 6). If the selected
number
turns up, the Player wins even money. If the selected number appears
on two or all three dice, payoff is 2 to 1 or 3 to 1. For example,
a $5
bet on a selected number that comes up once will earn the Player
$5
(1 to 1); if the same number comes up twice it will earn $10 (2
to 1).
B – Two Number Combination Bet:
This bet anticipates that a combination of two particular numbers
will
appear; the payoff is 5 to 1. For example, if a $10 wager is on
a 2, 6
combination bet and the 2, 1, 6 combination comes up, the house
pays
the Player $50 (5 x $10). A die may only be used once in any winning
combination.
C – Three Number (total sum) Bet:
The Player bets on the combined total of all three dice. Bets
in total
Numbers and payoffs vary as outlined on the Sic Bo table.
D – Small or Big Bet:
The Player predicts that the accumulated total of points that
appear
On all three dice will result in a low or high number. A small
bet totals
between 4 and 10; a big bet adds up to between 11 and 17. The
payoff
is 1 to 1. A combination of three identical numbers equals a loss,
even
though the total may be in the small or big category. A total
of 3 or 18
equals a loss as well.
E – Double Bet:
The Player bets the resulting dice roll will contain two of any
number.
The house pays 30 to 1.
F – Any Triple Bet:
The Player bets the resulting dice roll will contain three of
any number.
The house pays 30 to 1.
G – Triple Bet:
The highest odds in the game, the Player wagers that three of
a specific
Number will appear. Triple bets offer the best pay off at 180
to 1.
