A
man wearing a tutu and golden palace casino illuded dozens
of security guards and officials and made his brief debut
at the Olympic Men's Synchronized Springboard finals this
week as he hurled himself off the diving platform. He was
sentenced to five months in jail and fined just over 2000
euros by a greek court just a few days ago.
This is not the first time for Ron Bensimhon the illusive
Canadian who pulled this stunt, to do something like this.
Ron has appeared in a similar type of stunt last year at
the World Figure Skating Championships in Germany. The German
courts did find Ron guilty at the time but he immediately
appealed the courts sentence and was released without bail.
Ron said that he had not meant to disrupt the competition,
adding: “I wanted to have fun but I never knew it
would finish like this. I thought they'd laugh about it.'
The Greeks, who had spent $1.9 billion on Games security,
were clearly embarrassed by the stunt, although they took
some solace when they finished first, winning their first
gold medal of the games.
