Blackjack dealers depend on tips or tokes as a big part of their salary. The mechanics of tipping are easy. We can either push a chip over to the dealer or we can place a bet for them. The second method is considered best. We tip by placing a bet in front of our own bet. If we win the hand, the dealer also wins and they get twice the amount for a tip. If we lose the hand the tip goes into the rack along with our bet. However, the dealer will still appreciated our action and will usually acknowledge it with a "thanks for the try" type comment.
