Betting on the Big 6 or Big 8 spot a the
craps table is a very poor bet. The casino will give you
even money if the 6 or 8 comes before the 7. However, this
bet gives the house a very big advantage. Since there are
six ways to roll a 7, and only five ways to roll a 6 or
8, this makes the true odds 6 to 5. The even money payout
leaves the house a 9.09 percent advantage against the player.
If you like the 6 or 8 put your bet in the place box, instead
of the Big 6 - 8 box and the house will drip its
advantage to only 1.52 percent. You will be paid $7 for
the $6 bet instead of even money the Big 6 and Big 8 pay. |
